So my first real coral is arriving on Fri, a bounce mushroom.
Not alot of information on reef2reef to read which makes it more exciting...
like my mandarin wierd growth.

I have read they prefer more alkalinity 8-10dkh which I can achieve without affecting others.
Has anyone successfully kept one and any care tips for the long term, any disasters/ what mistakes you made, it's just a mushroom right?

What poor corals do you already have that aren't considered real?? lol!
Just beginner corals, my mushroom was one head but now 5, split on its own so I think new mushroom will do well :)

Just providing some unsolicited advice. Unless you want your entire aqauscape to eventually be all GSP... I'd move it from that spot and put it on an island.
Thank you, it's on its own island , I twist and turn to promote growth then it's on my sandbed (hopefully) thank you :)

Have you cared for one, not much information on care advice anywhere
The same as I do for any mushroom. Not too much flow or light, and that’s about it; hard to go deeper than that since it depends on your systems PAR, but often that means the bottom portion of the tank in areas with lower light out of direct flow. I am not a big target feeder, but some people think that helps with growth and splitting.

Thank you

Get some reef roids, soak some frozen mysis, and spot feed and make sure u get some in the mouth. Started doing that 3 days ago and mushroom starting splitting today. Ricordea mushroom but still similar I’d think

I have ricordea mushroom too, green but has split and dropped baby's, I think now it's 5 , that's why I purchased this mushroom, hopefully it will do as well, advertised as 'side show bob' ...

Leave it alone, let it grow and done worry about selling it.

Mine has been doing fine at the bottom since I got it like 8 months ago. Low flow low light area.

Just keep them in lower light and lower flow and leave them alone and you should be good. I keep my alkalinity in the 7s and the few varieties I have are all happy the last few years. I don’t feed them except for what they get when I feed the fish
