Hi everybody. Before I glue my Plumbing together, perhaps there is something I need to change. I have never done this before and nobody has helped me only the information that I've gathered online. I ran into a clearance issue with the main drain into the sump so I used a Barb fitting with clear tube 3/4 inch. That is my only concern that I can think of. Other than that, how does it look from what you can tell do you guys think it will work? Thanks everybody all comments welcomed

Ideally I would have liked to have the emergency drain into the skimmer section, but I settled on dumping it in the fuge area

Also, how do I determine exactly how long to make each drain pipe??

You could put a zip tie around the tube/barb fitting to hold it together better and ease your mind some.

Not sure on the length of the drain, but looks like you did an awesome job so far.

How do I determine the length of the drain?

I did something similar, though simpler, some time back. Converting a standard 'corner-flo' system to Herbie. Worked great.

Silence.

Siphon drain standpipe needs to be well below normal water level in the overflow... a few inches. You'll probably want a strainer of some sort on it. Trickle drain standpipe will dictate water level in the overflow box. The closer it is to the level in the display tank, the less 'waterfall' you'll hear, as water spills over into the overflow box. Mine is only about 1/2" below normal tank surface level.
