1st icp test! Anything to worry about?

just had my 1st icp test results from my tank that's been running 4-5 months

had test done because put 2 corals in 2 weeks ago and lost the elegance coral and tracky did not look best

would it be because there is little nutrients in water or maybe something else whot killed elegance ?

Aluminium is 159 is that really high??

For a fish only you are fine. Phosphates need to be detectable but low for coral growth. Iron is low. That is all that jumps out.

Yea, it looks like the range is 5-30 for aluminum.

Would these high amounts be from my media because there have been posts where export blocks leek aluminium! iv got 1 brightwells n03 export brick in sump" think should take out tank randy? and whots best way to lower aluminium please ?

I’m not sure how well things like GFO bind aluminum. Some folks recommend it, but I’m not sure it removes aluminum as much as doesn’t add any the other phosphate binders may add.

The expiry brick might add some.

Water changes will work to reduce it.

Why would you keep the NO3 export brick in your tank if you are dosing both NO3 and PO4. I would save my money on dosing NO3 and try removing the brick first.

only problem is that my sand and front/back glass get really dirty more when stopping skimmer" as 5 month old tank and looks like I got the ugly stage know!

No, the tropic Marin balling system is not boosting the aluminum.

I wouldn’t be sure the metasorb will have an effect, nor am I sure there is any reason to do something to lower it. Icp cannot reveal the chemical form of elements such as aluminum. But metasorb is an ok thing to try.

its skimming very dry and its almost thick black whots being produced" had to turn skimmer down to 3 from max 5

may remove block anyways and try sipreox ceramic media as Aluminium free! after use of metasorb I will do another icp test after few weeks of Brightwell n03 brick out of tank
