1st post. Reefer noob. what is this?

hi all. I hope I'm in the right place. first time post, and total noob to reefing.

I recently put some Acans in my tank along with some favia and I noticed this growth that had tentacles. Is this what it looks like when they are creating new polyps? or is this something that has attached to the coral?
I think there is a similar growth on one of my favia too, so I makes me think it may be something different. Any insight would be appreciated. thanks

Yup - Aptasia. A copperband makes a great addition and will take care of the aptasia. Just make sure you see the copperband eating at LFS before buying.
