2 AI Nano on 40 Breeder?

I still haven't decided on a light fixture for my 40 breeder. It will be a mixed reef, but primarily LPS and chalices, some SPS.

Has anyone tried the AI Nano's? If so, how was the coverage? An did the corals respond favorable to the lighting (growth and coloration)?

I'm sure I will need two AI Nano's for coverage. I am still debating on purchasing the AI 's of the Tek Elite T5 6x39w fixture.

Pictures of your setup would be nice to see as well.

I would go with one sol blue hung about 14" above the tank. Nice coverage if you hang it lengthwise .

Ok, I'll look into the Sol Blues. I just didn't think it would support the coverage of a tanks dimensions of 36x18x17.

I own both and yes, they are linkable. I have one AI nano sol over a cardiff, and two ai sol blues over my 65g 36x18.

Are you recommending 2 Sol Blues? Won't I get alot of light spillage on a 36" long tank?

Sorry about that, I dont know much about the SOL blue nanos, but knowing what I know about AI's products I think I could assume that you could use two of these and receive ample coverage, what I was saying was to go with 2 of the nanos because while the modules are amazing to say the least, 36" is a lot of coverage to expect from one module even a normal SOL blue. so in conclusion two nanos lol. if I am wrong someone chime it

I ran 1 sol blu over a 30x30 cube
No Problems at all but if you want go with the 2 or start with one the get a second

I love the look and hopefully the fixture will do my corals justice.

I currently have a NEP 6x18w on my BC29, but I will be transferring them into a 40 breeder soon.

I run the Tek Elite 6x39w over my 40 Breeder now. Works great!
I was suggesting mixing one regular size AI and one nano to get good coverage. One wont be enough and two maybe too mucn, IMO. :bigsmile:
