As title states I have 2 broken 55 gallon aquariums. ( found out one had tempered glass for the back panel after getting half way threw it with a diamond bit) my thinking is take one front panel that's 48x21 and use it to replace the 48x12 (bottom of the 55) cut 2 pieces of glass that will be 21x21 for the sides and have a tank with the footprint of 48x21x21. Anyone done anything like this before? Should I be worried about the glass thickness? I know tanks can be bought cheap on Craigslist ect. But miswell try to do something with the broken tanks instead of trashing them. Any input would be great!!!! Including links and pictures should be around 75 gallons or so when I'm done

Anything is possible, just make sure the seams are clean and bond well and you should be good to go. Post pics as you go!

Done the math and it'll be closer to 90 gallons. Iv read up to 60 and some 75s are made with 1/4 glass. More I read the more I think I'll need to use a euro brace on the top. It's gonna be something I'll make and test extensively before I set it up in my bedroom.
