I added the 2 bulb let retrofit kit to my 48” reefbreeders led. As far as bulb selection when only running 2 bulbs... should I run 2 of the same bulbs, or different? Does it matter other than color preference? I tried 2 blue+ but the colors were a bit too washed out. Tried blue+ in the back, coral+ in the front and like the look much better. The bulbs are spaced about 10” apart, so back is bluer/front whiter (which I don’t mind visually). But is there any issue for spectrum/coral health?

Those are both fine. It doesn’t really matter

There are two good videos about t5 bulb selection/combination on YouTube. They are pretty helpful.

I ran Super Blue in front and Coral + in the rear for a year. Just switched to Actinic in front and Blue Plus in the rear. I like this look much better but then again I do prefer the blue look over the bright white.

Four Kessil A360W-E are the main drivers for me so those do the bulk of the work for spectrum and intensity.

The spectrum in either of those bulbs is good, and wide-ranging. Either the C+ or the B+ has a wider spectrum range than the Reef Breeders fixture does. Just use what you like the look of and rest assured that the spectrum is good.

For the most part, T5 bulbs have more in common with each other than they have different. Something from 6500k to a Blue Plus just have a few tweaks for our eyes while sharing more spectrum than not.
