Well, my NUVO 10 is only a couple days old and I spotted my first life. Any ideas?

haha your first hitchhiker and its a terrible one to have... kill it quickly as you can

Should I just break that piece off? It's on a very thin piece of rock.

you could if you wanted I guess... people go through a lot of trouble to remove them once they begin to spread... things such as copper band butterfly fish eat them but a 10g is way to small for that... another option is a Peppermint Shrimp as they'll also eat them :)

Tank is nowhere near cycled, so it would have some predator free time to grow :(
