2 eheim jager placement? Will they burn filter socks?

I purchased 2 200w eheim jagers the only place they can fit in my sump is just slightly under the filter socks. Right now I have them side by side. The temp controller on them and maybe a bit of the heater is in contact with a sock. Will they burn the sock? And is having them side by side ok?

If the sump runs dry they might scorch the sock but those socks are not all that flammable when wet.

I would be concerned with the heaters being side by side. Those 200W heaters put out some serious heat and I would be worried those two heaters might be cooking each other. Separate them if you can.

How many gallons is your setup? If you have a small sump, I'm guessing that you probably only need one of those heaters. There's no problem with keeping the heaters under the socks given the rapid flow in that area (at least, when the socks are relatively clean and water is flowing through them). I'd be a little worried if you're not keeping on top of your sock switch-outs though. Regardless, if you have an aquarium controller, it's a good idea to make sure your heaters turn off when your system pump is off to prevent overheating. HTH
