I have a 3’x18” wide x 25” tall tank. I currently have a mp40 on reef crest mode and wanting to get a new pump for the other side. My buddy recommended me sell my mp40 and get two gyres. Is my tank to short for 2 gyres? Or tall and too short. Just want advice here before I dive in. Thanks.

I have one (1) on a 5’ long, 24” wide, 25” deep tank, and it does the trick. I do have a small supplemental wave maker for cross-flow, but not a second gyre.

i have maxspect gyres on a 12"tank

I have two XF350 running at 50% on a 4’ tank. One is enough but I like the alternate and turbulent flow that two opposing gyre has. Gyres are also has great prices, but needs monthly cleaning to work efficiently. Mine is a year and a half old and running great.

So you would go with only 1 330 or 350? If I went two I should go with 2 330? Just trying to see my options and what will let my sps grow better.

I would choose 2x gyre for for the opposing flow. The 330 is enough but I went with the 350 because the price difference is not much and it gives you flexibility later.

I just inherited two gyres, these things are super strong, no way you need “require” two on a rank your size.

I have a question as well, I think mine are old, X-150’s. Can anyone confirm? Controllers are old school and I am wondering if I can get a more advanced controller with this model.

also the I tried the battery backups and they work but the flow is very weak...that normal ? Also have no idea how to work controllers....one is busted....but runs on current setting.
