Hey guys, been asking some led questions on here lately. Leaning towards Kessil. I have the Fusion 30l, which is 36" long. The a160we claims 24" coverage, but not sure how accurate that is. So would two work, or would I need three? Maybe going to try and get two 360s if I can find them used... Thanks for your advice guys.

I don't think three would be bad if you have no center brace to get in the way....you can always dim them.

If it's easier, start with two....get a [HASHTAG]#lux[/HASHTAG] [HASHTAG]#meter[/HASHTAG] to help you set the dimming. Something like 40,000-50,000 lux is a good starting point for a new tank. You can start lower - anywhere down to around 20,000 - if you're converting established corals. You're best off matching them though...don't go too much brighter or dimmer if you can help it. :)

You might want to add a third fixture later.

I personally have three 360's on a 60" long tank and it has great coverage. I could have done two but three was the right choice. I know thats not exactly what you asked but hopefully that will help.

Every answer helps! Price wise, two would be ideal. And I guess if needed I could always add a third. I was thinking of just cherry picking and jumping on used ones if three is necessary, but if two will suffice I'd just buy them new. If I can find two 360s I'll be doing that instead. Anybody else with Kessil experience please chime in...

Would one 360 and a single 160 work? Or would that be to lopsided?

You'd have more balancing to do even if they are identical colors....I wouldn't bother with mixing.

If budget is an issue, definitely buy used rather than stressing or scrimping. :) And there's nothing wrong with starting with two - it'll be close enough to get you going and get you familiar with how they work and cover your tank.

Well guys, I jumped on a 360w.... So now I'm going to find one more, and just run two 360ws, which should suffice.

I have 2 360'son a 3ft 57g tank and its perfect...I previously had 3 150's and grew everything just fine but had NO acro's . so im guessing you would need 3 160's as long as you have no center brace or 2 360's
