So I’m extremely worried about my dads plan of putting another ADULT angel ( about a foot) In his 150g tank. My Lfs wants to sell this angel to him. He already has a foot long emperor. What are your guys thoughts?

uhh if he can buy another foot long fish he can buy a bigger tank
Upgrading to a bigger system
isn’t an easy at all. It would cost tens of thousands of dollars. Plus new equipment. Buying one fish isn’t even in the same ball game as upgrading to an entirely new system.

I have found most large angels to be good tank mates and citizens, unless.... they are cramped for room and/or underfed. Probably both can happen here. Your pair of large angels will likely become one and the undersized tank will become an octogon of UFC type of fighting.

I have seen this work. By work I mean the fish did not kill each other.

That being said I would never do this. The rule I told customers for years working at an LFS was never put any 2 Large angels together. A Dwarf or Genicanthus species was fine but no two Pomocanthus sp. should not be mixed.

If you try to mix two large angels you are playing with fire.

The single angel will out grow this tank. I personally installed a 10ft x 3 ft x 30in tank in a pizza restaurant because the french angel in the 180 they had previously got nearly 2 feet long.

I would say no to this. My Emperor are not yet a foot and he is in a 375 (8' x 3' x 2'H) and he always get hissy because other fish are in his way

If it’s too costly to properly house an animal, time to look for a new hobby!

That must be an impressive Imperator at 12". I've never seen one in a home aquarium that large...

You could always convince him to donate it to a public Aquarium in exchange for lifetime passes :D
