we currently have one mp40 on our 75 along with 2 koralia 3 (only one is currently working)) and chiller return pump (I believe it is a 3/4 hp). we have purchased 2 new mp40wqd to put in place of every thing once we change over to led lighting.

I was thinking one higher and to the front on one side and the other one lower and to the back on the other side. plan on having them paired and control them through a reeflink.

another thought I have is putting a chamber much like a center over flow but have it completely sealed up and the sides return at an angle. place one mp40wqd on each side basically pointing towards the front corners. my wife and I are on the fence what the flow would be like if we went this direction seems like the aquascape would probably disrupt and would probably be very turbulent when it reached the corners.

typically our aquascape is in the center of the tank with several inches from the walls on all sides

any thoughts on placement or oversized?

I had two mp40's on my old 90g. I ran them on reef rest at a max of about 75%. It was great. I had them on the sides of the tank directly facing each other

I would think not. I am running a 40 and a 10 on my 40b. Would rather have 2 40, bit using what I have for it.

You'll be fine with 2 mp40s. I run two on my 65 gallon (36x18x24) at 60% on reef crest mode.
