I got two new fish today. They are still hiding a lot in their new home. They have not figured out yet, they are the two biggest fish in my ocean. Lol. They will.

now you all get to see my weakness. I am horrible at remembering names : ( can you tell me the names of these two please?

I just realized there is a separate forum for this question. I’ve been trying to stay here in newbie land lol

congrats, first one is Blue Hippo Tang

Great choices for fish. I also have a Hippo and Foxface and both love to eat algae all day so they will definitely put in work for you. My Hippo was pretty shy for a long time, but the bigger she gets the more she realizes that she will someday run the entire tank. ;Happy

I've had my One Spot Foxface also for over a year and it has never touched a coral. It does eat the algae all around the coral, but not the coral itself. The thing you have to worry about are it's venomous spines. In case you didn't know, (your LFS should have told you) it's spines have venom to defend itself in the wild. Be very careful never to get poked by him or you will get stung and from what I have heard it is very unpleasant.

The other thing about that fish is that it can change color to camouflage itself when scared so don't be too worried if it turns completely brown or brown and white or any other weird shade. It scared the heck out of me the first time I saw him turn dark brown with white splotches and he was pressed up against the rock staying as still as possible, but after having it for so long I am used to the weird things it does.

Thank you : ) yeah... so.... I am almost certain he told me not to touch them. I have very bad hearing....

Yeah, I like these 2 new guys : ) the foxface scared me pretty bad getting him home. I thought he was almost dead : ( his color was like... death gray He just laid on the bottom, on his side for a solid 30 minutes. Then I saw what you and others wrote about him.... makes sense now : )

He already knows he is king of my tank. : ) I have two spotted eels in there....but they are not interacting so far. I need one more bigger fish, then I’m gonna stop. I know what I want... sort of. Still bouncing between 3 different fish and to be perfectly honest... part of the decision will be what’s available when I am ready : )
