2 questions on new tanks.

What do you do with a new glass tank (innovative marine sr-60)
To get it ready for water...cleaning wise.

Also if I buy a brute trash can for mixing water. What process is required to clean this first?

I'd probably be OK with just a wash with tap water. However, if you have concerns, a wash with vinegar or bleach and then a good wash with water should do the trick.

Either or both! I have never used anything but water on a new tank except for a couple of used tanks I bought. My Brutes both got wiped down with bleach and then washed out. BTW, I have two, one to drain the tank into and one full of new saltwater to put back in. I use the old tank water in my frag tank and any holding tanks I may set up for things I bring home from the estuary or the Florida Keys.

And brute can is brand new from the store.

Is it just regular bleach you use?
Like the same stuff I put in my laundry?

Yes. Just use enough to get a scrubber sponge wet and rub it down. You are just removing any hint of other chemicals that may have been used in making the Brute (like mold release). It should be fine.

Just make sure it is unscented bleach.
