2 Questions; Temp and Tank Voltage

I ordered a grounding probe. Hopefully this will help with the voltage.

After using 2 separate thermometers I believe the APEX is incorrect. One is showing 78.8 and just above 78.

You can calibrate the apex temperature probe. I needed to do that with one of mine.

I can't see why people resist them either .. a ground probe is only $10-$15. I've been save twice because I had it in use.... glass heater was the culprit each time. I now have a ground probe in all 4 tanks and titanium heaters in each as well. To me, some things are a MUST HAVE!

Now I had one of the first style At least I think it was a titanium heater it cooked my fresh water tank but it was I guess 20 plus years ago, now I am back to glass but I do have a ground probe

That's the beauty of an apex. You can set an alarm if your temperature rises above a certain point in your tank and your Apex will turn off the socket to your heater. Among any other thing you ask it to such as shutting lights down and so on. It will also email and text you if you want it to

Have you seen how can adjust the apex probe readings on your apex system?

If you have two other discrepancies and you feel at those are closest to the actual temperature you can calibrate your temperature probe. If I remember correctly I went through the display in this order :
Setup/temp setup/ calibrate/ok/add corrected temp the clicked ok.

You might also need to then return to temp setup and click enable/Ok .... I did because I have 2 temp probes on my apex but you may not have to. Check your temperature when you're done and see if it's what you set it at.

Actually, the ocean is grounded. I hope you don't believe that there is a glass insulator that lines the bottom of it.

Sorry! Some people are completely against using ground probes. I am frustrated by the amount of bad information out there on the topic. I'm probably a little over sensitive on this issue.

I've always used them, from the day they came out.

You never know if something has failed, but I still a couple times a year test for stray voltage using a ohms meter.
