When I redid my aquascape like 4 month ago, I planted 3 green and 3 purple birdsnests, greens growing good, purple losing it tissue rtn from top. Both sitting in about 280-300 par.
The bottom still has tissue.

Birds nest is very sensitive sps. People lose it out of the blue. Likely due to a swinging parameter unknown to you at the moment.

Post all other known parameters besides par.

Different strains of the same species can have quite different needs. This is very likely what you are running into.

Lighting

The lighting needed depends a lot on the type of bird’s nest. I came across a study on the genetic differences in these corals. Turns out that Seriatopora from different regions of the reef, though the same species, are very different genetically.

I’ve seen here at the greenhouse that there are varieties like the yellow bird’s nest that can thrive in very dim lighting while other varieties, such as the pinks and birds of paradise, require stronger lighting to develop the most appealing coloration. In the video, there are several shots of the same type of bird’s nest, but grown under different lighting. They look like completely different species.

I never had problems growing these birdsnests, I do question my lights as I did conver to MH now. Here is picture of me growing them under t5 and leds. This was before I did my rescape everything else has being same.

Same tank, yes this was my huge monti colonies, i had, ...I was just trying to say that I didn't have a isuee growing these in my tank for years... the only major changes have happened is I now have metal halides on my tank par 300 or less on them, second big change was I completely redid my acuascape, while tank was running.
