2 scary things in my tank....

Both of these are white blobs, but they look different. One is oval, the other is just chalky white stuff. Could these be why my star polyp is dying?

Yeah.... I'm not sure what you are looking at in the pictures. Can you circle what you are asking about and repost?

They just look like sponges to me. +1 on what tehmadeefer said

I have them growing all over my tank including on some LPS skeletons and even under some zoanthids, if you want to remove it wait until its nice and round and carefully take off the whole ball (it's soft) without squashing it, or it will release spores and you'll get a whole bunch

Thanks so much folks! I'll assume it's all ok then. I have a new top with LED's in it instead of fluorescent, so maybe that will help my star polyps that are disappearing...
