My PF-800 HOB has 1 drain, however my sump has 2. Currently I am just using 1 drain and the filter sock gets dirty in a couple of days.
If I make a T in the drain line and use both filter socks I assume they would get dirty slower? Then maybe I could change them once a week?

Yes, using 2 socks will reduce how fast you need to replace them. A "Y" will likely give you a more even split of the water flow over a Tee.

But consider not using any socks at all. Fish poop provides not only urea and phosphorus and other nutrients but also calcium and fish poop is part of the carbonate cycle on reefs. Instead of cleaning socks weekly just occasionally (1-2 years) siphon out the majority, not all, of the detritus that collects in your sump/refugium.

I have only fish in my tank, but that is certainly very interesting!
