2 Sump or not 2 sump?

My nano is 2 yrs old. When i first got some ppl told me to add a sump but the LFS told me that i did not have to mood this tank. I guess the ? is should i add a sump to my 29gal nano and if so how?

Well if it is established now I wouldn't worry about adding a sump. Remember what a sump purpose is to add water volume and to hide your equipment basically. Remember we are talking about a SUMP not a refugium that is totally different but some like to call them the same.

If things are fine now then why change anything?

And again it does depend on what you are trying to do.

IMHO the man thing is to balance out the tank so that the wastes from the bio load are being recycled into fish food and oxygen with various plant life like macro and other algaes. Plus any toxins like copper are being exported by harvesting the algae. A refugium is a good way to do that.

but then that does not have to be a seperate sump.
