I have a blue star wrasse and had a melenarus wrasse. Both were eating and swimming well. The melenarus appeared to be very healthy and became the boss of the tank. a week in he started swimming on its side, then upside down. I had made a emergency change to my plumbing and thought maybe he was affected by the pvc glue. When I'd try and catch him he'd dart and then eventually go under the sand. Finally I found him stuck in the sand dead.
Now a week later my blue star is showing the same symptoms. Upside down now having trouble manuvering in the high flow tank. I've caught him and placed him in a fish trap (pretty bad was able to do it with my hand once flow was off). With little flow in there he is just upside down. Breathing pretty normal still but not a lot of eye movement. Belly looks swollen. ocassional attempts to wright itself.
Are these types of wrasse known for swim bladder issues? Time line seems about right but not sure. Fairy wrasse, cherub angel, fathead anthia and bangai cardinal all apear normal and unaffected. Is there a way to know for sure its a swim bladder issue?
