I have 12 water pumps in my 300 Gal.
Take me months to balance the "right" flow, i mean NOT like Jacuzzi one narrow spot ,Tunze are great pumps, my SPS encrusted like lava, frags go side to side, then start to grow like Crown, i guess that the ans. why so many ppl. wont frag and price still up to the sky, Tenius is easy SPS ( W.D.H.W. , Rainbow) all grow the same, i mean FAST, ppl. keep low flow , not to disturb the sand ( i guess) then SPS grow like Bamboo stick , then you got only few branches 2-3 . Then they are afraid to frag the only 2-3 branches , that way price stay up, i sale yesterday 6 Colony , i make a favor to one of my body, i frag 20 from one Colony , you can sale $ 40 to $ 80 , the Colony still for FREE. I have one difficult stag i forget the name , is pic. one NEW Tropic Marine Pro salt bucket , start with 'A", i got 2 frags for around 2 years ,encrusted 4" around , now decide to grow up, i will post the pic. soon i am close with sale W.D. The point is this....the more polyps you got....the more she feed and stay healthy and strong , color etc.

Yah it sounds like u have a very solid recipe. It all makes a lot of sense. I will truly try and apply some of it. Idk if I can afford some of that equipment but I'm understanding your principles. Lots of flow, lots of food, and get the crap out as fast as u can. Honestly I've never seen such a chunky frag of WD before. Can you explain or inform me about two part. That's really my only option on my 70gal I just don't really have the room for a cal reactor. Just room for some jugs and a dosing pump.

I try dosser also , i was one o the first who buy Vertex Libra ( great toy) , i try to avoid Calcium Reactor , i make my own Ca,Mg,Alk.( Snow melt , Baking Soda for Bicarbonate,Carbonate) but when we melt Calcium Reactor Media is more then those ( 3 ) may be Strontium who knows how many thinks. Long story ,short story, C.R. is more solid , constant, less headache , more stable , the only one cons is how to avoid to introduce CO2 in your tank, i explain that. The way i see it the dif. between C.R. and Dosser is like we try to use a powerful car run faster.......but NOT to use much gas. You may try Triton method , they stuff , may be closer to C.R. result.

Do u think it's worth the cost. I haven't looked into for awhile and when I did it looked like a crazy amount of money for something I could just mix up in 1 gallon jugs.. but I will check it out again things might of changes. AKA my mind set

I think you have to relocate the frag, for better light cover.
Second,
You decide if you need Calcium Reactor, in stand dosser.
Depend what you try to grow, SPS most or LPS or Mix.
If decide most SPS , i think you will be more happy with Calcium Reactor,

As of right now. Nitrates r around 10. Phosphates r really high at .3ish. mag 1400ish. 162 to 175 ppm ALK.. 390 cal. That's really all I test for.

If i was you, i will drop Alk. to 7.5
Mag. around 1.300 ppm
How about Potassium ? Must be around 410 ppm.

Yah I don't have a test kit for potassium. And yah the tank runs at 1.026. I have found if j run my mag below 1400 I go though cal like crazy and I get that white dust everywhere

One , more think.
Food.
I make my own food , 99% sea food , shrimps,clams,octopus,calamari,scallop etc. add 4 yellow ( organic) eggs , i use processor food , grind all one by one until become puree, add nori add some Ro/DI to make it more fluid , put everything in big cooking pot, let sit 3 days inside the Frigidaire, stir every anther day (marinate) then put in 1 Gal. bags and froze , i take every day one piece ( defrost or few min. on tank water) then trow in tank. Big pieces fish got it , the juice SPS enjoy, they love it, BIG time. I run intake of Protein Skimmer from outside ( 430 ppm) in room is 680 ppm, try to use a pump circulate water from bottom to top ( release CO2) . Protein Skimmer run wet after i add my food, like crazy, effluent of Calcium reactor i pass first to one old Reactor ( 2 gal. ) i run air pump in this (empty reactor) this way u got rid of CO2 , enter most Alk.Ca. Mag. what ever he produce, same in my Denitrification Sulfur Reactor (run air on 5 Gal. water) PH from both are close to 6.6 so is LOW, after you run air thru Container ( empty Reactor ) PH end up 7.4 - 7.6.
I run 12 pumps in my Display , those fight each anther , make the water to flow every place , not aggressive direct to corals , just like Natural way. Detritus spen few sec. in my tank, also i run 2 cheap pumps behind Protein Skimmer , to make sure whatever the pump of P.S. skip go back to intake of P.S. back , make him a way more efficient, i run pumps also in my sump , is clean all the time, in my personal opinion , # 1 problem in Reef is........DETRITUS , the faster u got rid , the better it is. By using my food make Protein more efficient , some extra food i guess got collected , become like glue, pick up more Detritus.

I think by adding RO/DI water before i frozen, i guess. Become more heavy and dissolve more juice for Corals.

Today i may sale 10 more , almost done the 30 colony , in past i donate and sale 200 frags, never ever got any complain, what you see in my tank is what you got, i hate somebody to tell me i sale brow ugly coral for $ 500 + i got no time.
And why my wife have to know all about my $.lol.
