Hi everyone,

I have 20 gallons high fish tank with two Ocellaris clownfish that are there for the past 4 months. They seem established and active enough that the whole tank seems like their territory. The bigger one, female, is occasionally pushing the small one and she seems a bit aggressive when I put my hand to clean the tank. I would like to put at least one more fish in the tank but I would like to get something that will not get bullied by this pair of clowns. On the other hand, not something that will become a bully itself, like a damsel for example. I'll post a picture of a tank so you can see how many hiding spots are there and the size of the tank more or less.
I'm looking forward to hearing your ideas and thank you in advance!

May be hard to get a fish that can take care of itself with two clowns in a 20 and isn’t a bully itself some possibilities may be-
Tailspot blenny
Yellow watchman goby and pistol shrimp pair (if you have at least an inch of sand, not clear to me From pic)
Orchid dottyback
Azure damsel or other damsel from that genus like the yellow tail

Thank you for your response. I was "afraid" it's going to be something like this, but I still wanted to check with more experienced hobbyists.

How about a type of cleaner goby?

neon goby
Figero goby
Sharknose goby (can be aggressive)

I’m going with these in my 20G
2 clowns
2 neon gobys
1 clown goby
1 possum wrasse/green mandarin

I would be leary about adding a possum or mandarin to a 20g unless you have the correct live foods for it. They can be very picky. Just FYI. Others are good inhabitants.
I love my neon goby. Always out and about.

I guess Royal Gramma would be risky to put in a 20 gal with two clowns. Do you guys agree?

A cleaner or clown goby could work

a possum wrasse can work in a 20 but not with clowns (too aggressive)

a mandarin will be super hard to keep alive in a 20 (even a captive bred one eating pellets)

If you have a sand bed I agree a Yellow watchman goby and pistol shrimp pair would be a great addition. Otherwise, have you thought about a Firefish? I've been eyeing a Helfrichi Firefish or a Purple Firefish.

Firefish could be nice. I have a lid :D
My sand is about one inch deep so maybe watchman goby and pistol shrimp would also be cool.
I had a yellow clown goby before, it was always chilling on the rock, not much of a swimmer, I guess like all gobies.

Firefish is probably too easily bullied I wouldn’t do it with clowns in a 20
