Hello everyone! With the lack of success my 10 gallon is having, I am really considering upgrading to a 20 gallon high and taking a drastically different approach to the system by turning it into a macroalgae tank. Here are the specs;
Substrate: None? (may need some sand for the pistol shrimp in the current setup)
Rock: 20 lbs live rock, ideally purchased encrusted with all manner of organisms or at least corraline algae
Lights: Two Reefbar pro 6500k daylight LED's from ebay. Just one provides 120 PAR at 19 inches deep
Filtration: Protein skimmer, aquaclear 20 filled with seachem matrix, 650 GPH internal filter (for circulation more than anything else)
Fauna: Royal gramma, Talbot's damsel, pistol shrimp, feather duster worm, sun coral, some assorted snails and hermit crabs (all of which I already have). May also add photosynthetic gorgonians. Other fauna TBD.
Flora: Various macroalgaes including Caulerpa and other things that can be anchored into rock or sand.
Lid: Glass lid
Nutrient export: Skimmer, 40% weekly water changes, macroalgae, denitrification from matrix (aided by vinegar dosing)

What do you guys think of this? Thanks :)
