20 gallon long nem tank

Yet another build, well… more of a transfer. I have a Biocube 32 that became a nem tank after a hostile takeover from several splits, and I’m not too happy with the curved glass on the Biocube and the tank has gone to (poop). I’m going to be emptying the cube, full clean, and probably turn it into a planted tank. More on that down the road though. This tank will not be drilled, so I’ll need some HOB equipment and I’m fine with that.

Thoughts so far for the setup:
20 gallon long open top
2x AI Primes
InkBird heater control
HOB Icecap scrubber
HOB reactor for Chemipure
2x (possibly 1) AI Nero 3
Tunze ATO if I’m comfortable sumpless
Whole lotta BTA’s
2 clowns, purple dotty, and bengaii cardinal


Should be good to get this setup in a few weeks. In the planning stages now, so any input is good

Here’s an older pic of the tank. The nem has become 9 splits at my last count, and the tank looks like it’s been to hell and back. My plan is to put the rockwork on one side of the tank for the nems, and have some zoas, and remaining corals on the sandbed.

Well this tank took an interesting turn. I scrapped the 20 long and bit the bullet on a Tideline AIO 31 gallon. Been a really fun tank to watch and observe. Thinking I may add 3-4 mangroves and hang a light from the wall. We’ll see… here’s how it progressed. Nem count is about 14, I think. I added 5 macro algaes in, 2 are doing well. 1 is meh. The other 2 I’m pretty sure melted. I’ll try another round when the remaining algaes are fully settled and growing. Live stock is 2 clowns, 6 line, diamond sleeper goby, and a red scooter blenny.
