I have a 20L that is nearing the end of it's cycle (old picture here, away from the tank rn, it's starting it's diatom bloom and nitrogen parameters are nearing ideal) I was originally planning on adding a goby/pistol pair but I've read that pistols are hit or miss and I'm not sure I want to take the chance on a shrimp killing my inverts. My new idea at the moment is a royal Gramma, a blue damsel, and some other fish I haven't decided on yet. Any ideas on that fish or other stocking ideas are much appreciated. [emoji16]

Pistol Shrimp are hilarious. If you want a combo I say go for it. Mine has never killed anyone but it did steal a few prize mushrooms once.
 
I have a Tiger Pistol with a Yellow Watchman Goby. They are so funny to watch. Sometimes they make a mess but that doesn't bother me much.
That's cool, I wouldn't mind either, keeps the sand bed turned up. I was stuck between the tiger and the candy stripe but I keep reading mixed reviews of pistols killing inverts. I think I'll just go for it and add the goby and the pistol at the same time after my CUC is all settled for a bit

Im sure its possible. I do not have any shrimp in my big tank so the only thing it could murder is some snails or hermits but there are so many of them that I guess I wouldn't notice one here or there anyway. lol

They were the first ones i bought for my 75 gallon. I just had to have them. :)

Yeah ik how you feel, I've wanted to keep a pair since I realized "wow, I can keep those two from my biology textbook IRL!". My first tank was a 94 gallon used I bought from a lady who was moving (I'm going into marine biology, so I've got like, 5 tanks, with fresh and salt) and coral came with it and everything. It's been a heck of a ride, so I want to make my first salt nano work without stupid casualties lol
