I have been running this set up for about 20 months now. Everything seems to be going great. Excepts for my alge problems and one

I'm aware of that. I have had lots of experience with tangs in small reef setups like this.

As for the rock I really want to get more but I can't afford it right now so I'm making what I have in the tank work.

That's like saying, "Hey I know that this 75 pound lead weight should break a small piece of glass, but it hasn't yet, so I am not going to worry about it." The one thing I have learned in this hobby; if you're going to do something, do it right.

Just curious how you can have lots of experience with tangs in small tanks when you can't afford rock for a 20g tank.

What setups did he have, what tangs did he have, and if it was his experience, how do you have experience with it? No offense, but that's like watching a movie about a court case, and saying you have experience with being a lawyer.

He had a two 55 gallons setups. Both of where reef setups and I took care of one setup while he worked on the other one. He had a powder tang, yellow tang, and one other tang that I can't remember the name of. And no offense taken. I get where your coming from.

It's good that you have some experience. Watch Craigslist, you should be able to find a nice setup, something along the lines of a 75 for pretty cheap. If you're lucky, there's a bunch, off 50% in cash to come pick it up immediately, and then you have something much better to start with as soon as you can swing it. Unless you can get something 6' long, stay away from other tangs, they need too much room and will get super aggressive.

New update. So I woke up this morning to some water on the floor next to the aquarium and cleaned up and went to work. I came back and it's back. I looked closer at the tank and I'm now seeing water slowly coming out from under my aquarium and all around the bottom seems of it. Any advice on how to fix this would really be helpful.

The only thing you can do is get a new tank, or remove everything reseal this one, and get new sand. Prolly cheaper/easier to just get the tank.
