Hi, I'm new to the hobby. I have had my 20g set up for a few months now. I have torch, hammer, pulsing Xenia, and birds nest, 15 Nassarius Snails, a turbo snail, 7 red leg hermits, 1 blue leg Hermit, 5 astrea snails, 2 false percula clowns, sand sifting star, serpent Sea Star, and a black clown goby. The goby sits in small rocks near the birds nest so I don't really consider him part of the tank. I check my parameters once a week and it's always been good quality, but I do a water change anyways. There are tons of pods in my rocks, too. What're your suggestions for fish and coral? I will be upgrading to a 40 Gallon in a few months to a year. Thanks! (Located in Pittsford, New York)

Maybe a watchman goby/pistol pr, plectranthias, or stigmatura blenny.

The clowns may behave aggressively toward any fish that are active in the water column.

I want a fish that'll swim in the water column and the clowns haven't been aggressive to anything, they don't even fight each other

You don't have any open swimming fish, so there isn't anything for them to behave aggressively towards. Since you're already planning on an upgrade, then I would recommend waiting until the bigger tank is up before adding an open water swimmer.

The tank is pretty boring at the moment. I doubt the clowns will be aggressive, so what's an option for a new fish? Is the tank too small for a banggai cardinal? I heard of people having a 6 line wrasse too.

Pink streak wrasse could be a good option that wouldn't be aggressive. I like my radial file fish, cool swimming style and a unique fish that is always by the front glass. My next addition will be either a leopard Toby or a Midas Blenny in my 25. Fire fish is another open swimmer that comes to mind.
