So, I have a 20-gal aquarium and was thinking of using a smaller aquarium as a DIY project to build a sump for the 20-gal. What size should I use and has anyone personally done this? Hints, tips, tricks and pics appreciated.

Alternatively, if I were to one day convert my 20-gal into a sump and use it for a larger aquarium, for what size aquarium would it be suitable?

For the 20g I used to use a 10g sump my buddy made then I got a bigger tank n used the 20g for a 46 bow front i had but I would think a 20g sump would be good for atleast a 55 -75 maybe
