can someone just tell me what they have on their 20 long with circulation and lighting that would work for softies and Low light lps and how much it costs. Idk if i need a pump if I run my tank with 400 gph filter

Ya so does every other 'lighting' thread. No one will ever agree what is best.

im sure you will need at least 1 powerhead in the tank just to get water hitting the dead spots in the tank

Researching is all part of the fun, and what we like and told you to get, you disagree with

You're learning theory at a fast pace but not an ounce of practice and this hobby is the perfect example of the saying:

"In theory there's no difference between theory and practice, but in pratice there's no similarity between theory and pratice".

Would you consider setting up the most simple reef tank possible and allow theory and pratice to go side by side?

A small tank, 2 or 3 pieces of live rock, sand, a cheap pump, a cheap light, heater, a refractometer, easy soft corals, a pair of clownfish and weekly water changes?

No skimmer, no dosing. Just try to keep it steady and learn theory and practice at the same time.

After an year of so, you will want to upgrade and nothing you buy now will be of any use in your next tank.

There is no one best option. If there was everyone else would go out of business. You just need to pick what is best based on what you have been suggested, the reviews at hand, and your budget.

ur plan is going to change another million times by July... you went from flood lights to t5 to vispectra to orbit back to t5
I say stick to viparspectra, unless you plan to put more money into lighting after. Viparspectra is a random chinese brand which is the only reason i put orphek as the only trusted brand that barely fits into your budget

Ok I think I will do the nicrew a cheap pump then I will do coralline rock then fluval heater live Fiji pink then i think that is equipment

this is what I have in cart
