Will I crash the tank if I dump a whole thing of bb in? I did it in my fw tank when I was a newbie and it didn’t hurt anything. I wanna get biofilm as fast as possible because it’s a key to success for keeping fish like gobies

I have Jawfish and they're not mean but they do not like other fish getting near their caves. Keeping a pair in a tank with a bunch of other fish will do nothing but stress them out & stress makes fish sick. I know this from experience after taking in a pair of very stressed Black Capped Jawfish. Sadly, I no longer have them. I have others but no other pairs.

I would suggest that you get a notebook, write all of your ideas & aspirations for your tank down and then once you get to a point where your tank is stable & you can start adding fanciness - then look back at it. Then you should start posting some of these questions that you have... later. You will have had time to observe your tank & its inhabitants to make educated decisions about what you still want or need. You will also have time to save up the money for whatever upgrades you want to make.

Without even having a tank set up yet, there is no telling what you're going to run into or what changes you'll want to make on the fly. It's good and fun to have a plan but I can tell you, nothing ever goes exactly according to the plan.

You shouldn’t have ammonia in the long run so I’m not sure what that’s for. Maybe I’m wrong if so pls correct me. Don’t do the cucumber and some people like the emerald crabs but I’ve seen them pick lps clean so I would also discourage that. I would also get 20 pounds of live sand. If you get it and then think it’s too much you can put some in the Display a refugium you we’re taking abt.

If you read my post closely, it says to cycle your tank and THEN add fish. If you don't want clowns, damsels and cardinals are hardy fish. Damsels can get very mean though, so I'd go the cardinal route.

why does a book need to be free? if a book is too expensive than I'm going to guess a reef is too expensive

I would get 20 lb sand but this I could add as extra or I could use it in a diff tank.
