2008 Spring Event " Got Frags"

Hi everyone, I'm RobCropper from Hampton Roads Reef Club down in Virginia Beach, VA. We were talking with a few other reef clubs in the region about an upcoming event we are get together and were wondering if you guys would be interested in participating? I spoke with Ficklefins briefly about this but I thought I'd throw a post up also. This is still in the planning stages, but we would like to get things rolling so it will be ready to go early Spring. We are still finding the location, probably midway between DC and Va Beach. We were thinking of getting a medium convention type space for the event. Hoping it will have a huge turnout. For the event itself we were thinking rows of tables so people can setup small frag stations for trade or sale. We would also like to maybe have a speaker, (just an idea). Lemme know what you guys think about this idea, and hopefully we can all get together and have some serious fun.

i think you might get a lot of richmond members to show up, richmond is in between va beach and dc, though not quite halfway.

how about Richmond?

there is a pretty big and active reef club in the Richmond, VA area. the club forum is on RC.

thats a long drive for the virginia beach people.

3 1/2 hours from DC, It will most likely be in or around the Richmond area.

Richmond sounds pretty good to me!

i have no idea what goes on at these things....as i've never been to a convention or major frag swap so to speak.

rev had some good pictures of what goes on at a local one though.....maybe he has some ideas.

Sounds like an event I'd be interested in checking out. I would be willing and able to make something the Richmond area.

Can't go wrong with a Frag Swap!! If anybody has any ideas or experience they want to share I'm sure Rob would appreciate feedback.

I for one, look forward to meeting everyone in person...oh and getting new frags. HRRC is bouncing around a lot of ideas for this event but since it's not going to be just a local thing, please feel free to chime in with ideas and thoughts.

hmm, this would be cool.

I am not sure about setting up a tank. Seems like a lot of work. I would try it i guess. I got a nano cube i could use. Bring some zoa/palys.

i am sure i could meet up with some of these nova kids and make the trip.
