2018 WaterBox 230g Price

Can anyone tell me a ballpark price for a 230g WaterBox setup bought around 2018? I'm thinking about buying one but I am not sure if it's worth the asking price. Or if this is the correct forum to be asking this. Thank you!

Its only worth what your willing to pay. So if he's asking $5K for everything is it everything you want and are you willing to pay it? IMO i would rather have new.

IMO I'm not buying anyone's used tank unless its half or 1/4 of the price. Its a large item and people want to sell but then there are the people that want there money back and so call "I know what I got" people.

Local guy here is selling a waterbox 20 with stand and AI prime for $700. It looks like crap and they didn't even clean anything. I DM'ed them not an offer but said i was interested in it but not for that price. Another guy that I've dealt with before has the same tank and light for $450. Two kinds of sellers out there.

She says it has a lot of "extras" with it. But she is asking 8K! I realize extra equipment adds up quickly but a brand new setup today is just under 6K. She said she was selling it at half of what she paid 5 years ago. Not knowing what they were selling for in 2018 makes it hard for to figure out what I am willing to pay. I bought a waterbox 70.3 brand new with brand new equipment for $1000. Saved me about $3k. I wouldn't pay $8k for that. Write out price for all the other equipment. Their prices are pretty much the same with the newer aquariums. The older ones have flaws in my opinion. Some were built like AIO tanks. You can buy the newer tank brand new for under $5k

I will say that a local store here was selling a used water box 220 with Reef, breeders lights pumps and skimmer for $5500. If that was a local reefer selling it, it should’ve went for probably 4K.

I asked the local shop about that tank recently and they said someone bought it and it sits in storage.

You are always taking a risk with a used tank, so it better be a heck of a deal to make it worthwhile.

The equipment she listed to me I priced at around 2,300 brand new and that is being generous not knowing specific models. She said some stuff was brand new and some was just over a year. I offered 4K. But still not sure if it's even worth that much TBH. Thanks for the input everyone!
