Last Sunday became Sump-day at Fort Diesel!

I had this puppy sitting in the guest room for about 5 weeks, so it was time to get the dust off and get'er wet!
Sump is custom build by BAO ( Building An Obsession) http://buildinganobsession.com/ local in Houston.
Recently got to fame in ReefBuilders, http://reefbuilders.com/2014/03/18/building-obsession-sumps-live/

It took my Brother (271reef) and me about 5 hrs.
New and adjust plumbing, seal the inside of the stand and clean all equipment after a good soaking bath in 5 gallons of vinegar.
Replaced all pumps in the sump for new, although they were still working good but while we were at it why not!
Made space and prepare the tank for Calcium reactor in the near future.

After two days all working perfect and super quiet.
I had some celebrities moving in the sump too overnight, LOL!

yeah, that sump is terrific. it's really smart to have the adjustable baffle not only on the return section but for the filter sock compartment going into the skimmer section as that gets overlooked in a lot of builds and the filter socks are mounted way too high and water come into the skimmer section from too high causing lots of noise and splash. yours can be adjusted to match whatever height you have your return baffle at if not just a bit higher for a gentle trickle. that's smart and i dig it.

You hit the nail right where needed!
BAO and me were not planning this to re-invent the wheel but more (I strive for that 24/7) as in to made the wheel turn better and faster.
We used the highest grade acrylic available in 1/2" thick sheets.
This baby is bullet proof!
