I am running low on Coralife salt and they’re not longer in business for salt. Initially I was looking at Fritz but then Aquaforest caught my eyes that it’s cheaper and also I can use the code on each batch to check on the IcP test.

200g for $60 is pretty reasonable to me. I typically change out 35g weekly.

My friend is testing Instand Ocean, but he says it’s a bit dirty.

Or if you have a better recommendation for about the same price range. Thanks

The IO bucket is 160 gallons and costs a bit more at least on BRS. You may find that amount for less in other places, but the quality is really hard to beat for that price IMHO.

Always used IO Reef Crystals. Took a break from the hobby for about 10 years and came back using TM Pro, after having constant issue I’m now on Red Sea Blue. Might just go back to IO Reef Crystals, it always leaves a little stuff in the barrel after it mixes but it ALWAYS has so I just feel like it could be the most consistent.

I just went back to reef crystals after 4 years of Red Sea pro. It is a little dirtier, it the result in my opinion are much better

Instant ocean for 20 years. Why fix what isn’t broken?

What do you want in a salt? Is price the number one priority? Is cleanliness and consistency a top priority? Is matching your parameters a priority?

Lots of variables to just blindly recommend salts. I’ve tested my fair share (found in my signature) and can tell you there are a bunch I wouldn’t use and a bunch I would. Just depends on what you want in a salt

If you consider the USA to be the world, I suppose that's true.

Not even available in Australia and New Zealand.

The closest thing to world salts are Red Sea and perhaps AF.

I use RS BB. I was thinking of switching to something with higher levels of ALK and MG so that my water changes replenish things. My tank only has about 13g so I’m not concerned about price for it. After reading this thread I might use IO on my next tank. I see it wherever I go and at this time I usually have to drive for RS.

Instant ocean goes on sale at Petco for $36 a bucket pretty often. Just boost the alk where you want it and you’re good.
