20g/30g AIO on a solid wood desk?

I'm planning to downsize my 40b setup since I'm moving into an apartment, and I'm looking to get second opinions on whether or not my desk will support a Innovative Marine 20g or 30l tank.

It's a solid wood desk that's part of my bedroom suite (using it as a stand would save space). At 180lbs I can sit directly in the middle bouncing up and down, and it feels solid as a rock.

With the 20g I'd likely offset the tank to one side, but with the 30g long I'd center it and add a 2x4 support under the desk along the length of the tank.

Has anyone ever supported a similar sized tank on a similar piece of wooden furniture?

I think youd be fine. Most stands are made of cheap particle board and stapled together. So this would hold it just fine.

Thanks for the input. That's what I was thinking.

I might try putting a 30g-40g storage bin full of water on it for a couple weeks to see what happens.

I think you'll be fine. You could put a couple sand bags in top too. But honestly I think youe wasting your time. Itll hold just fine. If your worried brace the desk top in the chair well

Yeah I just used an online "Sagulator" to try and estimate the deflection. I had to assume the type of wood, but most common types gave me a max deflection of 0.01 inches with 400lbs, so I think I should be good.
