Hey sorry I’m asking so many questions, I have a 20 gallon long reef tank with 20lbs of live rock.

Current stock
O. Clown pair
Royal gramma
Purple firefish
Yellow clown goby
Clean up crew

I was wondering if since I’m heavily stocked should I upgrade my aqua clear 30 to a 70 or will I be fine.
Any help appreciated

I would definitely go with at least a 50 on that tank given the higher bioload. Especially if you aren't running a skimmer.

Agree or keep the one you have and add a second.

Why not just add another one instead of upgrading?!

Besides taking up a more space I would say no.

I have an Aquaclear 50 on my 20g long coral quarantine tank. It doesn't self- prime itself when I shut it off or with power outages. There are a few other hob filters you might want to look into that do self-prime easily...i believe someone had a thread on them just the other day! Im thinking of changing my quarantine Aquaclear filters due to this!

Maybe just add a 50 to your current 30 filter... or if you just want one filter for noise reduction and space, go with just one bigger, 70 maybe.

Sounds good I’ll have to look at that thread thanks for the help
