Went to the LFS today and bought a pair of Onyx Clowns, their patterns are very beautiful and 1 red firefish. I saw a diamond goby but had to say no because I don't have anything in the sand for it to eat at the moment :( - Could I get a diamond goby in addition in a few weeks or would this be too much in a 20g tank? It was so beautiful, I loved it so much.

Sand sifting gobies do not do well in smaller tanks. They need a large mature sandbed in order to survive. I would pass on the diamond and maybe look at a similar looking none sand sifting goby.

plus those gobies get surprisingly large. i had only seen small ones and then one day my lfs had some adult ones, easily 5"+

An orange spotted goby would be a suitable replacement that looks similar and it pairs with pistol shrimp which is interesting/nice.
