I'm no expert, but I think you may be doubling up on a couple things. What's your plan for the tank, other than mixed reef? Going to load it full of fish, or just basic cuc and corals?
ATS(algae turf scrubber) is great at removing nitrate and phosphate, creates an optimum place for algae to grow.
Refugium, similar in concept as an ATS but not always as efficient , BUT has other advantages the ATS doesn't have. Creates a fantastic area for pods and other critters to grow.
A well run ATS may outcompete some macro - algae that you may grow in your fuge. But other strains may work great and add additional beneifts. Plan on tweaking it after you get it set up and running.
Additional reactors? I understand wanting to run calcium, but running gfo after a ATS and fuge may be overkill (?).
If you decide to do a protein skimmer, I would suggest putting it before the ATS and fuge, not after.
Personally, I have a small 24gal nano, and have decided to only run an ATS (upflow) and have had good success.
I'm sure there are plenty of opinions and ideas, and I will never claim to know all, only what has worked for me. Good luck!
