20gal long sump?

I built my current sump from a 20L. I'll measure when I home this afternoon. I used 1/4" glass for the baffled to avoid expansion issues since the tank is glass.

Different tank makers can have slight different sizes. Measure the side of the tank( the smallest piece of glass). Look and see if the bottom piece of is on the bottom or the sides of the side peace's. If it the bottom (like most tanks) measure the thickness of the glass and subtract that trice.. This will be the length of the baffles. If you use plexi glass gut them a 16" of a inch shorter so they don't expand.

This is true. I would recommend measuring from the inside of the tank and subtract 1/4" from actual width to allow room to get the baffles in. If its a glass tank I wouldn't recommend using acrylic baffles since glass and acrylic expand differently with temp changes.

I have a Tetra/Perfecto brand 20g long and the 1/4'' glass baffles are 11 5/8'' wide, the height depends on your equipment and what you want to do in the sump.

Without hijacking the thread.... I'm considering building my own sump too; just wondering how hard it is to cut the acrylic and glue it?
