21 day old tank, what is this stuff?

Worried that this could be diatoms? Got home last from work last night and saw brown stuff on the glass cleaned everything this morning in but forgot to take a picture.

I lowered the red and yellow on my Radeon light to 20% during the day cycle, saw it could help on a BRS video...

Don’t be worried. Diatoms are unsightly, but are a great indicator that your tank is progressing through not only the Nitrogen cycle, but becoming more mature as well. Tank looks new, (as do your test kits) which leads me to believe that you’re just experiencing what we all do at some early stage of the tanks life. If you don’t have any corals, which I hope you dont, turn your lights completely off. That way you’ll avoid any other photosynthetic growth. The diatoms will pass in time... it just needs that. Some time.

Probably diatoms or cyano, I am pretty sure they are part of every new tank. When I set up my thank they came and left in less than a month, so don't worry it's all part of the process. If they persist for a long time, then you may want to look into ways for removal.

Normal algae bloom. You're going to see all kinds of colors and crazyness as your tank matures. They will come and go on their own

Agreed. I too would recommend keeping the lights off if you don’t have livestock that depends on it.

I wouldn't sweat it and even just let it run it's natural course except for on the glass.

I have 2 Chromis and 2 clowns all seem super happy. The lights I have running at 50% acclimation period for 9 weeks

Agreed. I too would recommend keeping the lights off if you don’t have livestock that depends on it.

The fish will definitely appreciate some lights to provide a day/night cycle and eat. I would say limit the length of the cycle and keep them lower just to not encourage a huge nasty outbreak that would be unnecessary.

That's what I'm doing turns on at 9am, then 2 hours of blue light then at 6 it turns off and 2 hours of blue light

Got home from work at 11, checked the tank no Diatoms. I think lowing the yellow/reds helped a lot.

I had the same when I started my tank it eventually went away. I'm thinking it was cyano.
