210g Tang Tank - Stocking Suggestions

I have a yellow, blue, and spot cheek. You don’t see the spot cheeks very often and I think they are so underrated!

Is that A. maculiceps? Beautiful and different...they just get so darn big.

Yes it is! I have him in my reefer 350 and he’s only about 3 inches long.

He’s our fav fish so I already have my girlfriend on board with a 6-8ft peninsula a couple years down the road

You can do a lot of variations with that space

I’m so bad with genus and scientific names but this guy is an acantharus.

As he’s gotten bigger the yellows become more pronounced, I’m hoping one he colors up like this eventually

If it helps, all tangs are in the same family. Bristletooth should refer to those in the genus Ctenochaetus. All in that genus literally have bristles for teeth that they comb and scrape algae with.

Gotcha. Im so bad with scientific names. I really want one since it looks like a bristletooth or Kole but like dang I ready they get way bigger than koles?

Do you plan for a deep sandbed? And what corals do you want?

And my biggest piece of advice is, go buil yourself or get yourself one of these before you add fish to any existing fish. It will be a life saver - I added a Hawkfish to my tank and he is beating on my wrasses (which is the biggest thing about why I love my tank).

We are starting the cycle this weekend! Ordering rock, sand, and fixings for the sump. Now that we cleaned the entire tank, sump, and redid the plumbing, we are ready to go!

Here is a wish list, I know not all of these will make it into the tank.

• 2-3 Purple Tangs
• 2 Hippo Tangs
• 2 Naso (This is not going to happen XD)
• Yellow Tang
• Mandarin Goby
• Pair of Nemos
• Damsels
• Angel Fish
• Copperband butterflyfish

Looking back on the recommendations and talking to some friends, the list is probably more like this:

• Pair of Ocellaris clowns
• Foxface

I was told not to do Angels or Butterflies as they will nip or even eat the anemones. Does anyone have experience with this?

I would also like some recommendations for inhabitants for the bottom of the tank, maybe a Blenny or two?

Lastly, can any of the tangs on the list come in pairs, or do you only suggest one of each, given the size of the tank.

Two fairy wrasses
Two clowns
Large watxh man goby
One blue chromis

I added them all together and they have been good to go! I have tried adding a few other tangs since and they get bullied to death within days.

Ive got a regal and a french angel in my reef, no nipping. Just the dang kleini butterfly who was a model citizen then decided he likes to eat torches and only torches. -.- as for my bottom of the tank fish I have an engineer goby (love her, keeps my sand clean) and two moray eels!

Oh yeah, engineer gobies are so fun! So they are good sand sifters? Would they get along with a mandarin goby?

Awesome stock options, fairy wrasses seem legit. Might double up on purple and blues then. Not 100% sure but a good note that adding all at once is probably the best option.

I was also told to add all zebrasomas together.

They are good sand sifters. Just be cautious they are called engineers for a reason! Make sure your scape is secure and on the glass, they tunnel under the rocks. Squirt, my engineer, caused two rock slides, she managed to get under the base rock on the glass and tunnel under it! Love her though, one of my favorite fish. And I have two mandarins, she doesnt bother them at all. The only fish she gets annoyed at are my eels when they try to share the cave with her because they think shes another eel but she just moves to a different part of her tunnels until they leave! I got her when she was a tiny little baby, super fun to watch her grow and change her colors!

I would do a lot smaller pack than that to be honest. Probably there 90 gallon pack or so.
