210g Things with Stings

:-) Done.

We put 2 DJ controllers in the sump shed. I like it nice and neat.

That is something I need to work on. My cords are terrible. Your setup looks great!

Thanks! I can't believe we finally have her done.... pretty much. We need to decide on a chiller and we're going to build a little doghouse-sized shed of it own. We haven't decided on a skimmer, either.

I'm ADHD, if it's not organized, my brain doesn't know what to do with it.

:-)

The stand of this tank is built around a 1/2 wall room divider.

Whoever built this house, did not use a level. I used one all throughout and couldn't believe how "off balance" this place is.

The wall is now the lower tiled shelf. We were lucky to find the same baseboards as in the rest of the house, so it looked seamless.

Because of the uneven walls, we had to get a little creative with the overflow. The acrylic against the wall is black so you can't see the wall. The overflow sits right infront of the wall to the TV room. The visible part of the acrylic wall on the TV side, is shorter than the dining side. There's 72" visible on the TV side and 84" on the dining side.

Incredible project. Well planned and executed. Love all of the attention to detail encompassing the entire build !!!

Thanks! I appreciate it. I was afraid it wasn't going to come out the way I wanted it to and it would be this huge monstrosity in the middle of the house.

I love lions. They are my favorite fish ever. I have owned 1 fuzzy and 1 zebra. I was stung by the zebra and it died a week later. I would like another but I really don't want to get stung again. I was always careful. Went in to pick up a frag rack without paying attention and my pinky went right into its spine. I enjoy being able to not have to look were I'm putting my hands. Before if a frag was flipped over into the sand and my lion fish was there I had to wait until the lion moved. I'm sure I'll get suckered into another at some point

I know what you speak of, when you say you enjoy putting yours hands in the tank without care...... I was just cleaning the panels on this tank, thinking I soon won't be able to do it so easily. I actually don't enjoy it because I'm short, so I can't look in there while I'm cleaning. I'm cleaning blindly with my arms up to my pits. I'm also the primary feeder and they rush me, when I put my hands in there. Now we clean tanks with "spotters". Someone sits back and watches and warns me if someone is close to me and I can't see them. We have waspfish and a ghoul, their sting is nothing to sneeze at.

Our tank isn't going to be all stings, but no messy eaters allowed. Lions are a heavy bioload, but if you give them appropriate sized food, they will not add "mess". It's "mess" that makes your tank dirty. If you have to pour you're fish food into your tank, you're adding mess. There isn't exactly another choice, it is what it is. The fish in the group that deserves to be called an aggressive fish is this ganster.

Gruuuuuumpy! You may think they are messy eaters, but they can take from a feeding stick, like everyone else.

Out of our trio, the male was easy to spot from his behaviour alone. He was a butt.

I don't like it....nope not one bit.

It should be at my house!

How are the micro bubbles coming?

Haven't found it, Dude. We double checked all connections and cleaned all the O-rings and applied new tape. No change. Sprayed food coloring on all connections. Nothing seen. Right now we are going to pull out the check valve. After that, we're going to switch out the pump. Freaking irritating.

How bad? If they are minor could it be air trapped in the lines and just need to be worked out?

Couldn't see through the tank, but could see them pouring out the outlets. We removed the check valve and there's already less. Not gonna look for the next hour.

Remember I had the same issue. Even going through everything I still had some. Now that it has ran for a couple weeks they are almost non existent.

How is your return? Could it be pulling the bubbles in? Could you build a small rock wall around the return inlet to divert the bubbles?

You know, there could be something going on with the pump as well. We were both saying it sounded different and when we turned it on, the temperature jumped over 10 degrees in 10 minutes. It never did this before.
