Going to be running reef keeper elite v2. looking to buy the best heaters that will work good with this unit? anyone can give me some good info i will appericate all the help and advice...Also would like to have some good info on a very good skimmer ?

I would probably get multiple heaters incase you have one die on you. I would probably go with 3 of eheim jager 300w

Eheim Jager TruTemp Fully Submersible UL Approved Heater

I didnt look around for the best deal but thats the heater.

For the skimmer it all depends what you are going to do with your tank. How much of a bio load are you going to carry? You plan on stocking it heavy? You going to run it in a sump or externally? If you are going to stock it pretty heavy, I probably would get a skimmer that is rated for 350-400 gal. Reef Octopus makes a good skimmer for the money. Here is one that would carry a heavy load if you chose to go that route.

Reef Octopus Super Reef 5000 Internal Skimmer

If you arent going to have a heavy load you probably could get the SRO 3000sss or 3000INT.

I agree with this. I have a 220g and I am using 3 300W heaters. Jagers, I believe.

As to the skimmer, I haven't decided yet myself, so I can't really provide any input :)

I have a 240 with 75 gallon sump (275 total water volume) . I use a 300 watt set at 76.4 to 76.8 and a 250 watt set at 76.2 to 76.6. Both ehiem jagers controlled buy my apex. The 300 cycles like 50/50 and the 250 comes on every now and then on cold nights. Tank is in garage conversion and room temperature never get below 62 degrees.

hey thanks for all the great info

New at this and want to do it right the first time
