A few days ago I decided to turn off my skimmer a few days later and I’m getting way better polyp extension on the sps corals I’m also hoping to dirty the water a bit. Maybe run the protein skimmer on a timer instead of 24/7. Anyone els do this with their skimmers??

I don’t like running a skimmer myself. Only in emergency situations. But I would if I had large populations of fish.

Mag if is that is splitting. Clearly has too nicely formed mouths. So interesting this is the second magnificent anemone I’ve seen split that has veracue like a gigantea

fun! How often do you lose fish to the carpets? I haven’t decided if I want to risk having any fish with my carpets or not…

I haven’t lost a single fish and I have some nice ones in there too there’s 5 gem tangs, 3 purple tangs, 1 koi tang, 1 hippo tang, 1 blond naso, 1 unicorn tang, abs a bunch of damsels. I feel properly attended anemones do not eat fish

This is my macro tank/ holding tank for tricky fish it’s pretty much the best nutrient export I ever had it’s looped into the mixed 220 and a 75 gallon I use as a flushing tank for new anemones

Good thing you haven’t lost any, but carpets do feed on fish, I’ve seen them doing it in the wild. I’ve noticed some carpets won’t be as sticky if fed regularly, where others will always be. I think agile fish like the ones you listed are easily able to avoid carpets, but I’m worried about my box fish face getting pushed into them from the flow.
