225 peninsula reef build

Next came all the trim pieces. I made all except for the crown. I got out the router table and plunge routers and went to town. Lol. All the trim is made from poplar from Home Depot 3/4” x 3” 3/4” x 4” in various lengths and maple crown on top of the canopy. It was a very tedious venture but I wanted to test my skills. No I’m not a woodworker by trade but consider myself pretty good with making things when I set my mind to it.

Then came the canopy doors. I decided not to make and for the stand unless it was loud. You’ll see when we get there but I was thinking no need for doors. Sump idea would solve that as long as slimmer wasn’t loud. Lol

The doors are all made from solid poplar bought all wood at Home Depot and Lowes many trims you find straight boards. Lol. PITA

Next up was making my rodi system two 55gal drums I got from a juice factory had syrup in them so good to go $50 for the pair. Took home and eased out with bleach water then vinegar water the water again. I wanted the tops to open up but they were sealed tops only bungs unscrewed so I can up Ruth this idea in my head and made it out of acrylic. Used a piece of 1/4 calico inside drum and 1/8 rubber gasket I made then 1/4 acrylic on top to make air tight. This is what I came up with. One 55 gal drum in daughters closet rodi and one 55drum in my hall closet saltwater. Plumbed through the wall so no dragging buckets anymore.

WOW looking great man!

I put a jeboa pump in both 55 gal drums. One in ordi to transfer water through the wall into the saltwater container and one in saltwater container to mix.
