I will preface this by saying this is only my third ever aquascape project, and the first anywhere near this scale. Prior to this I did a 55, and redid the 55.
The tank dimensions are 80x25x30. Dual corner overflows. Due to the height of overflows the actual water depth is 27”. The PVC behind everything is for my eel. It will also be FOWLR. Maybe super basic corals. It will all be held together with e-marco 400.
Not pictured is the approximately 50lbs of live rock that will be added in from the established tank being taken down and added to this. (Not pictured because it’s a friends tank and his phone has a potato camera and his tank has super dirty glass)
On the plywood out front is all my leftover dry rock I couldn’t quite find a suitable spot for.
The green tape outlines the interior dimensions and the wood at the back indicates depth. A rough eyeballing says the tippy top is approximately 7” below the surface.
Basically I would love some imput. Are the caves too big, not enough, general aesthetics, what improvements could be made. I am having a feeling like I should rework the second layer to be less… dense?
If it matters, the fish that will be in there are, Marine Betta, White Eyed Moray, Maroon Clownfish, Purple Tang, Green Chromis and a Midnight Clownfish. Also two teeny tiny gobies I will probably never see. There will be more, but I may have to make adjustments to my stock list, as I am going about stocking somewhat backwards. (It’s a long story.)
