240 gallon on granite

I have a large soace in my house that has a granite countertop. If I am able to reinforce the cabinets below to support the approximately 2500 pounds, would the granite fracture under the weight? Online it says 1000 pounds max but obviously it would seem to depend on the surface area it is setting in

If the granite is installed on top of plywood (as it should be), and the supporting structure underneath is sufficient for 2500lbs, you should be fine.

The lowest compressive strength granite is over 14000psi. As long as it’s supported the stone will not brittle fatigue from compression. Just make sure it’s supported and not cantilevered over any high spots/overhangs.
