As for the new tank, I am still unable to fill it because I have to wait until may for my house to be tented and fumigated for brown recluse spiders. The house has them bad. But I do have a 44 gallon trash can that is cycling rock for now.
As for physical updates, I have installed my rodi unit and installed a shop sink for all my fish tank maintenance. Very excited to finally have a sink that isn’t my kitchen sink to work with. I put the rodi after the water softener and my softener was regenerating the first time I used my rodi and I destroyed my di resin in seconds. It was crazy… salt was getting in my water lines due to the regenerating and the wasted coming out of my di was very hot.
But I replaced it and made some good water. Probably should replace all of the filters after putting them through a salt bath….
yes nothing out of the norm. I changed the flow of my display and i think that really messed everything up. I finally dosed chemi clean and all my death stopped which is nice. everything is recovering nicely

In addition, I was looking online for two plastic water storage containers and found some but the run like $700 and then you have to pay shipping for each container so the total cost after shipping was around $2800. I ended up posting on Facebook and a guy sent me the contact info of a man who works at the Missouri Botanical Garden who had 3 of these containers the week prior. To my surprises the man responded very fast and sold both of them to me for a total of $100. I feel like that is the best score of the year! i picked them up after work that day.

I want to have the new tank as a backup in case something goes wrong during treatment. then after that i will start transferring coral over.

scroll up. I am currently cooking some rock in a brute trash can. going to be doing weekly water changes on that for a while to get the nutrients down. I dont need to test the water as i can see the nutrients. and the water is dark brown... lol

Got my lights installed. still havent adjusted the settings but enjoying them so far. the middle light is an ATI Stratton and the lights on the sides are Aquatic Life XP48 LED (waterproof) Fixtures.
For the frame i used 2020 which was fun to build. and to secure the lights to the 2020 i used that super velcro from home depot. i can lift the entire thing by one light so i dont think the lights will be going anywhere.

Cabinet is now built around the tank. Water change station is almost complete.
In the past months I have bleached and cycled new rock, added sand, filled the tank up 2/3rds with water, and added two onyx percula clownfish. I have lights coming this week and I'm going to build my light mount with 2020. I'm using an ATI Straton in the center and then 4 aquatic life LED fixtures that are waterproof! 48 Leds per fixture and $300. radions were my original plan but i couldnt pass up this deal.
I Just finished the design on my new sump and send the specs to a buddy who will be building it. See Pic below:

once i receive the Sump i will plumb my current 90 gallon tank and this 240 gallon tank together. I have all of the plumbing laid out and am very eager to get it going. Once my last travels are over in october i will be moving my current 90 gallon SPS system to the house and then hooking it all up.
This Weekend i am planning to get the main electrical hooked up in the fish room. my plan is to buy a cabinet off of amazon to fit a space 24 in wide and 48 in tall. I am going ot hang the cabinet on the wall and use it as my control board. since it is close to the tank i think drawers are a good idea to protect my devices from water spilling. if anyone has ideas about this i am all ears. definitely brainstorming like crazy trying to find the best solution.
