Hi everyone

I take this opportunity to introduce myself in the forum.

I just started with the slatwater after 3 freshwater aquariums. I was really looking forward to saltwater and I took a 24 gallon cube to start.

The idea was to take something basic with which to start messing around.

The aquarium is a 24g without sump. The idea is that it is only coral, and since I have not invested much in lighting (for now) I will have to settle for corals with few light requirements.

The accuarium parts:
-24g cubic urn
-heatr sicce 100w
-water pump sicce 3500l/h
-Light sunsun ads-300h 24w
-skimmer bubble magus qq2
-Dead rock around 10 pounds
-aquaforest af bio sand
-zyme 9
-sal pro-reef tropic marin.

At the moment I have the aquarium cycling but as soon as I started to assemble everything, the first big question arose:
¿How is the skimmer (bubble magus QQ2) placed?
Well, the thing is that the instructions for the skimmer are quite difficult to understand and I cannot understand the height it has to have with respect to the water level. It has a sticker that says "water level" but I don't know if it means the maximum limit or the exact position ...
Also, if I submerge the skimmer too much, it makes a lot of microbubbles and smears it all around. I put two images to see if someone who has this skimmer or who knows the subject can tell me which one is correct.

Thanks in advance and greetings

I would think you'd want it somewhere near the middle of those teeth I see in your second pic. That being said you definately Want to follow the manufacturers guidelines on water level...

from what I read, that skimmer can be placed in a 4" water level tank such as a frag tank; so you can lift it high out of the water really if you want, that may reduce the bubbles

The bubbles should disappear after a short bit when the skimmer breaks in.. At least they did for my hydor slim skim

If the don’t put a small piece of filter sponge or the such to block them
